Hi there. You can call me Meg. I am apparently one of the thousands upon thousands of people who think that they have Important Things To Say and that you should read them. Apparently it worked, because here you are! Isn’t that nice?
I like movies a lot. I love stories in most forms, but movies are a particular favorite of mine. I’m also very fond of talking about social justice issues and probably spending too much time pondering the meaning of my own personal history. I’m a recovering evangelical. I want to be a social worker when I grow up. I don’t really believe in the idea of growing up. I’m 30 and there’s very little sign of it yet.
For 2014 I’ve decided to be a bit more organized about how I do this blog. Although I’ve been posting twice a week pretty regularly, I haven’t had regular days or anything like that. So, the plan going forward is that I’ll be posting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as regularly as possible. So far as regularly as possible seems to be an average of about twice a week.
Every Monday we have my ongoing for probably forever series – “Dear Baby Me.” I have journals that start from the time I was 11. I’m going to start from the first entry. I don’t know if I’ll put in every single entry but I’m going to at least be going chronologically, including the entries with original spelling, grammar, etc. and then I will write a note (or possibly a letter, as the spirit moves, I guess) back to my younger self.
Wednesdays are now my going through the Bible series, I am going through Bible stories, talking about each one of them in terms of what I learned about it growing up and how I feel about it reading it now. I’m enjoying that very much.
There may be other entries periodically but for now I’m in school and have a lot on my plate and doing those two per week is often about as much as I can manage. 🙂
